Remarriage between a couple who has undergone 1st divorce
by: SSuhiena

Assalamu alaikum
I would like to ask about a couple who has finished their first talaaq and their period of Iddah for 3 months are over. Actually about one year is over. The man has married another woman. But now he wants to remarry the first woman. Is the nikkah permissible after the 3 months of time? The woman has not been married by anyone else. Will this nikkah be valid?

How NOT to remarry after divorce
by: brother of darkness

if you REALLY think you can keep on trying to marry over and over,go for it....but don't complain later when you are paying multiple 18 year child support payments and find out that sometimes it is just better to quit while you are behind.

$212000....the average cost of bring a child from birth to adulthood.
$100000....the cost of establishing a new home for your bride with all the nikah/marriage required stuff included.

priceless.....the feeling of not having to worry about another marriage, woman, sex, and children trap!!!

After Divorce?
by: Admin

Aslam-o-Alaikum Bahe Aldean,

Thanks for asking an interesting but a troublesome question. You have married as per U.S law, it does not make any difference. As per Muslim Jurisprudence you need only two witnesses before you both (major Muslim man and woman) can propose and accept the proposal. Anything else is just cosmetic. So you marriage was valid as per Islamic law.

Now you have been divorced. You say that you have got divorce as per Islamic way. I don't know what way you think is Islamic. There are a number of modes of divorce in Islam. If you can submit your divorce method, it would be easier to comment.

However, if you have divorced her by saying Talaq (or any word which means so) once or twice you can remarry her without any problem. However, if you have divorced her for thrice at a time, then there is difference of opinion amongst the Muslim Scholars. Some say that three announcements of divorce stand for one. However, majority of the Muslims think it complete divorce.

What your wife is saying is called Hilallah. Once a divorce is complete in all respects, the woman can remarry her former husband only if she has 'genuinely' married another person and returns after divorce in due course of time. However, any kind of planning for such act makes intervening marriage completely 'Harram' (Un-Islamic). Please never ever do that.
